The MedicAlert Foundation has a state-of-the-art Technology Complex located at corporate headquarters in Turlock, CA. The Technology Complex operates 24/7/365 and houses the following centers:
- The Member Service Center, staffed by
professionals who assist and support our 4 million members
worldwide;
- The Emergency Response Center answers
calls from medical professionals and connects members to their
families and physicians;
- The Information Technology Center is
responsible for development and maintenance of our enterprise
software systems, our Web site and the MED Electronic Medical
Record database;
- The Network Operations Center operates
dozens of up-to-date servers that host and our Web site and our
data network, including a high-speed direct connection to the
Internet; and
- The Telecommunications Center, a fully-redundant self-hosted voice communications facility.
MedicAlert is an information-driven business, providing life-saving services to our members as well as the emblems and ID cards that are used as alerting devices. Our services are continually being enhanced by using the latest technology in our Member Service Center, on the Web site and in the area of standards-based personal health records (PHRs). We are actively researching even more advanced technologies in wireless communications, including Wi-Fi, Wi-Max and RFID networks, and the Internet.
