TURLOCK -- The MedicAlert Foundation announced Thursday the hiring of a new president and chief executive officer: Paul Kortschak, a health care consultant in Contra Costa County.
Kortschak is scheduled to take over April 19 from Buddy Henry, who has been interim chief since Tanya Glazebrook's resignation from the post.
Kortschak most recently has been chief operating officer at Kriscan Holdings Inc. in Danville , where he provides "general senior management guidance to a variety of health care organizations," according to a MedicAlert press release.
Before that, Kortschak was vice president of diagnostics at AusAm Biotechnologies and held senior positions at Fisher Scientific and Bio-Rad Laboratories.
He has master's degrees in business administration from Pepperdine University and life sciences from North Carolina State University, as well as a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of California at Davis.
MedicAlert provides emergency workers with information about the medical conditions of about 4 million members around the world.
