Bio-Imaging Technologies’ CapMed Division Partners With MedicAlert® To Market Portable Electronic Medical Record
NEWTOWN, PA. (January 6, 2005) – Bio-Imaging Technologies, Inc. (“Bio-Imaging”) (NASDAQ/NMS: BITI) today announced that its CapMed division has partnered with MedicAlert Foundation to jointly market a MedicAlert® Personal HealthKey consumer health care application for the secure storage, maintenance and communication of personal health information using USB flash drive technology.
The MedicAlert® Personal HealthKey will leverage the best-of-breed capabilities offered by each entity MedicAlert®, one of the world’s largest non-profit organizations, has devoted decades of service to protecting and saving lives throughout the world. As an added benefit to its unparalleled service, MedicAlert® will soon offer the MedicAlert® Personal HealthKey to both current and potential members. The MedicAlert® Personal HealthKey is powered by CapMed’s patent pending Personal HealthKey with a customized version of CapMed’s personal health management application.
The MedicAlert® Personal HealthKey will enable immediate access to emergency information, as well as securely store personal health information. Updates can by provided by both the patient and those authorized by the patient such as a physician, specialist, or a pharmacist. Information can be accessed at the user’s discretion via any USB-enabled computer worldwide. Purchase of the MedicAlert ® HealthKey will also activate the MedicAlert® Advantage membership that includes unlimited updates and family notification. This service will also provide online backup of information on the secure MedicAlert® database with 24/7 support from the MedicAlert® Emergency Response Center.
